SINGAPORE, June 9 (Reuters) - Thailand's PTT PTT.BK bought a liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo for delivery in the first half of July through a tender, two industry sources said on Wednesday.
The Thai firm had issued a tender on June 4 for two cargoes for delivery into Map Ta Phut in Thailand and that closed on Tuesday.
It has awarded one of the two cargoes to its trading unit based in Singapore, PTT International Trading, one of the sources said. The other cargo was not awarded, the source said.
The price could not immediately be confirmed but it was likely higher than other recent cargoes due to tight supply, the source added.
"Because of procurement by Northeast Asia end-users as well as supply issues from Indonesia, the United States and Australia, cargo availability in July has been extremely tight and prices have been strengthened," the source said.
